About the Role
Base Location: Flexible UK, however, our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant or London
Salary: £47,600 – £71,600 depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

The Renewables Risk & Assurance team provides support and oversight to the Renewables business to ensure the timely and compliant delivery of business objectives. As part of this role, the team provides a second-line appraisal function to examine and evaluate the internal control framework and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Reporting to the Head of Risk and Assurance, you’ll lead the effective and timely execution of risk-based assessments, consultancy and advice, and ongoing monitoring activities scheduled within the Renewables integrated assurance programme. More specifically, you’ll be accountable for assuring the compliant delivery of processes across the full range of business technology and functional areas and across all geographies.
Some of your main accountabilities will include;
– Effectively scoping, planning and delivering assurance assessments throughout the business, engaging with relevant stakeholders on a risk-based approach to identify areas of concern and, therefore, enhancement opportunities, capturing these in clear, concise and actionable outputs.
– Developing and delivering regular monitoring of critical business processes to ensure ongoing effective controls are in place and obligations are met. Using effective analysis and reporting of relevant data to follow up with stakeholders on areas of non-conformance.
– Undertaking consultancy or advisory assignments with business stakeholders, providing guidance on effective risk management, compliance best practice or obligation applicability.
– Collaborating with other members of the R&A team and business stakeholders to identify the most effective means to deliver identified improvements, contributing to the delivery of these enhancements, and providing regular updates on progress against the agreed-upon schedule.
– Supporting the R&A Performance & Reporting Manager through the provision of timely reporting metrics aligned with the assessments and providing cover for our data protection specialist in responding to data protection queries.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have;
– Significant experience in a similar assurance role within an energy trading environment.
– An auditing and/or other relevant compliance or assurance qualification,
– A passion for using your skills and experience to help business colleagues enhance processes and their controls to add value within a collaborative and energetic team.
– Demonstrable experience in data analysis, process improvement, facilitation and investigation capabilities.
– The ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation using your strong influencing and negotiation skills to implement effective internal controls and business improvements.
– A highly analytical, results-orientated mindset, capable of delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines and under minimal supervision.
